Nano Power
TATA motors introduces its ultra-cheap car. The Nano !
With a mind boggling 33 HP !! (coming out of 2 cylinders with a total capacity of 624cc). Top speed being around 60mph.
I can only assume its when going downhill & with a strong tail wind!
Targetted at families wanting 2 more wheels on their motorcycles, scooters
or the people trying to upgrade from 2 BP carts (BP=bullock power)
But Nano DOES look decent and like a car!
It still remains to be seen how normal sized people will be able to get inside it
& travel comfortably !. Though its taking flak for being lean on the safety & accessory features, we need to remember that its still relatively much safer
than a 2 wheeler.
Still a very good effort from TATA. I am sure it will sell well.
And let the race begin for the most silly looking car(t).
The fine art of electronics
Wish my soldering skills were half as good !
Surrendering to the PS3
After years avoiding gaming console temptation, I have finally succumbed to the Playstation 3.
All this time, I considered (and still consider) the PC as a vastly superior gaming
platform, allowing me to play games & also do PC related stuff, browsing, media center
and general fiddling with hardware/os/softwares.
My PC being a more than adequate AMD64 3200, with 2GB of RAM, is still well below, the current
quad core and ever increasing gaming benchmarks on the PC world.
To bring my PC to this level (well mainly for the newest games) will cost well in excess of 500£.
This is just the basic components !
Okie.. I have a Full HD (1080p) TV, which will need a HD source to fully exploit it.
My old PC cant quite cut to achieve this..and my other plan to build a HTPC (home theatre PC)
which will be around the 750£ mark. Most HTPC being a mATX & low profile configuration dont
perform as well as full desktop configuration. Mostly in the effort to function at low noise & also
without heating problems. Would be able to play the latest games for long !.
And compare that to a PS3, for around 300£ you get a rig which can play all the latest games (in HD)
Function as a media centre and as a bonus a blu-ray players is included.
Has a built-in upscaler into HD resolution. (Play old DVDs & PS/PS2 games in Full HD)
And to top it, you can install linux on it.
Hmmmmm...
That did it for me...
The best deal I got was a PS3 60GB + choice of 2 games + choice of 1 Blu-ray Movie + 1 additional Six-Axis controller for 369£
Bargain !
